Flowers
The detailed structure and ethereal beauty of flowers are some of the most amazing things in life. I was fortunate to be living in Panamá, where there is a tremendous variety of both native and cultivated flowers. Many of us living in the more temperate climates don't appreciate the tropical species. Now they comprise the majority of my portfolio. Because I am an educator, I strive to find the correct Latin names for the images. If you find any errors or missing names, please let me know through "Contact Me", and I will be happy to correct them.
I would like to thank the generous people who have invited me to photograph their gardens, especially Carla Black of Finca Chichica in Volcan, Panamá, one of the largest collections of heliconias in the world. It is open to the public for only one weekend a year, but do stop by if you are in the area then. Check her website for dates each year.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these flowers - my gift to you.
